The meaning of the shield:
The four half Moon shapes are painted in color
blue, green, red, and brown
The color blue represents
the holy mountains.
The color green stands
for innocence of heart.
The color red
represents the campfires of the people.
The color brown stands
for the eagle of the East, because man has to be
able to see far in order to recognize things.
This shield, as a whole, embodies the universe.
The buffalo came to be associated with the number
four, which is the Earths number.
No animal was more important to the existence of
the Native American than this animal. The Native
Americans believed themselves to be true
caretakers of the great herds, and developed a
sustainable relationship with the Buffalo
resulting in a relationship that was a true
expression of respect.
The four lightnings are symbols of Power.
