The meaning of the shield:
Since the
buffalo were vital to the survival of the Plains
Indian tribes, this shield projected special
medicine to assure productive hunts.
The buffalo face symbol asks the spirit of the
buffalo to be along on all hunts.
The four buffalo tracks represent an abundance of
buffalo, as well as respect for the four cardinal
directions.
